At first, a while ago, I heard about a bunch of guys that had a vision of creating a group of gay sims that would prominently position the gay society in Second Life.
My first reaction was…. “Sure… nice idea, but I doubt if anyone will pull it off”. From past experiences, most grand scheme ideas like this never really succeeded because of egos, lack of persistence, lack of vision and a heap of jealousy.
A few weeks ago, a great friend (hello Ohiomike!) asked if we would be interested in sponsoring the GA Winter Games. Not knowing what this was about, I decided to go see what had happened to this bright idea I’d heard about.
Off I went to the “about” page on their blog – to discover they had grown to a group of 146 sims that are ALL GAY/Friendly. Including a welcome hub and sandbox… Respect guys!
Fabrice and Thom (2 friendly guys that everyone seemed to know) came to have a chat – extending a warm invitation to join the GA. Considering everything that this would entail, and discussing this with Carl, we decided to go for it and join the Gay Archipelago.
Today I received an email from Arch Linden saying the move has taken place!
We’re excited and proud to be part of this growing community – engaging, supporting, and hopefully strengthening and contributing to the Gay World in Second Life.
